Planning for Preparedness and Response

About This Project

When the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard shooting happened in 2013, an EMT who happened to work in a nearby building at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) launched into action to try and save one of the victims. This EMT, a former client, was at the time a member of the National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC), a nationally recognized council of emergency medical services representatives that advises and consults with the Federal Interagency Committee on Emergency Medical Services (FICEMS) on a wide range of planning, preparedness and response issues in association with NHTSA.

Since 2012, we have coordinated multiple NEMSAC and FICEMS meetings, providing assistance with location selection and contract negotiation, development and production of event materials, venue and logistics coordination, on-site management, participant lodging and travel arrangements, and expense reimbursement.
