Symposiums

Exchanging Ideas

A symposium is an opportunity for scholars to share work in progress. Audience members hear from other scholars working on similar or parallel questions. Presenters get substantial feedback from the audience.

A Specialty in International Symposiums

The JDC Events team finds great satisfaction in helping to develop international symposiums that unite the public and private sectors on important issues.

For example, we managed the site selection for a bi-annual Cocoa Symposium taking place in Ghana, West Africa, sponsored by the Government of Ghana in collaboration with the Cocoa Producers Alliance (COPAL), and co-sponsored by the governments of Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia and Togo.

We also coordinated with local Congress organizers to identify venues and traveled to Accra and Kumasi to conduct site visits and meet with the Prime Minister to introduce the symposium to the Ghanaian government. The symposium hosted 250 delegates from 14 West and Central African countries along with an international base of cocoa industry leaders.
