The Young Epidemiology Scholars Competition (YES) was launched in 2003 by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and administered by the College Board to encourage high school students nationwide to apply epidemiological methods to the investigation of public health issues, and inspire the brightest young minds to enter the field of public health.
The program required event staging, design and execution, and we served as the event management firm from inception. With 60 presentations occurring simultaneously during the first day, the overall logistics were fairly complex for the weekend.
We designed and staged the entire event, which hosted approximately 200 people. This included conceptualizing and executing event décor; soliciting and securing the hotel space; managing the sleeping room block; securing food and beverage arrangements; managing audiovisual requirements; coordinating ground transportation; orchestrating off-site dinner venues and décor; instituting a tour of Washington, D.C.; designing/executing special event amenities; and providing on-site management over four days.
